Presented by Dennison “Denny” Wright—Former Officer, Rochester (NY) Police Department (RPD)

In 2019 a routine domestic disturbance call transformed into a life-changing incident for Officer Denny Wright, a 23-year veteran of the RPD. While responding to the call, he was repeatedly stabbed in the face and elsewhere on his body which ultimately cost him his vision. Rather than surrender a loaded weapon to the attacker, Officer Wright wisely ejected the magazine from his gun and fired the remaining bullet in the chamber, demonstrating quick thinking in a dangerous situation. His return to “normalcy” includes horses and skydiving.
