W57E Five Spanish Artists (Zoom; OLLI @ Chico)
Zoom | Available (Membership Required)
Through lectures, videos, and discussions, we will consider five Spanish artists – Velázquez, Goya, Sorolla, Picasso, and Dalí – who had major impacts on the movements of realism, impressionism, cubism, and surrealism. Participants will receive emails with something to read, something to watch, and a discussion preparation exercise in advance of each class meeting.
Dolores Mitchell received a BA in studio art and a PhD in art history from UCLA in 1970 and taught “Renaissance to 20th Century Art History” at Chico State for 30 years. She co-founded Chico’s Avenue 9 Gallery, where she exhibited her art until the gallery closed in 2015. Dolores now focuses her energies on painting.
