Prohibition – Public Enemies – J Edgar Hoover and The FBI – Robert ‘The Birdman of Alcatraz’ Stroud – George ‘Machine Gun’ Kelly – Al Capone – ‘Count’ Victor Lustig – John Paul Chase – Alvin ‘Creepy’ Karpis – The Battle of Alcatraz – The newly established Bureau of Prisons… And Paul Madigan – from Custodial Officer to Warden over the course of his career. He was my Mother’s Father – and my grandfather. I’ll share the fruits of my research as best I can.
