F22M Legends of Comedy: W.C. Fields (Hybrid/In-Person)
In-Person | Available (Membership Required)
[NEW CLASS] William Claude Dukenfield was born in Philadelphia and as a teen left home and embarked on a career in show business initially in vaudeville. His specialty was juggling interspersed with humorous running commentary. He eventually found his way into the motion picture business performing in two-reel silent movies including gags that he perfected in vaudeville. This class will follow the arc of his career through video clips and lecture from vaudeville to talking movies and reveal how a curmudgeonly misanthrope developed his persona and controlled his own filmmaking to achieve comedic perfection for his many fans. This will be the first of several presentations highlighting the legends of comedy. Audio/Visual, Discussion, Lecture
