F36T Let’s Read Some (sort of) Modern Plays (In-Person)

In-Person | Available (Membership Required)

[NEW COURSE] In this course we will read four modern plays that span from the 1970s to the 2010s: Proof by David Auburn, Equus by Peter Shaffer, In the Next Room (or the vibrator play) by Sarah Ruhl, and Mirror, Mirror by Sarah Treem. Subjects range from sexual farce to teen romance (straight and LGBTQ+). In class we will discuss the playwright, the staging, and read the entire play aloud, with attendees taking various parts. Due to limited available parts in some of the plays, not everyone may get to read each week.  Discussion, Lecture

  • *This registration item is in-person only; there is not an online section of this course.*

This course has a required $20 fee, payable online when you register, for hard copies of each of the four plays that will be provided to you by the course leader.
