F43W War: What Is it Good For? (In-Person)
In-Person | Available (Membership Required)
[NEW COURSE] The song answers: “Absolutely nothing!”, and civilians in a war zone may echo that sentiment. We are the most successful of mammals on Earth. War hardly seems like a positive activity for humanity. Yet humans have been warring for our entire recorded existence (some history books read like lists of wars), and there are billions of us. It might be good for something? We’ll look at war (and wars) and what various people (philosophers, scientists, generals, etc.) have to say about war, violence, and historical change. Some of what they say may startle you. Audio/Visual, Discussion, Lecture
