W08M Gustave Caillebotte: Impressionist and Art Patron (Zoom)
Zoom | Registration opens 12/16/2025 10:00 AM EST
[NEW CLASS] Gustave Caillebotte was a French Impressionist painter and, due to his family’s wealth, a collector of his fellow artists’ work. He didn’t begin to paint seriously until after his military service in the Franco-Prussian War in 1871, and by 1876 eight of his paintings were accepted to the Second Impressionists Exhibition. This class will examine his work and his influence on the Impressionist movement through his support for his fellow artists. Audio/Visual, Lecture
