W11M Drone Warfare: A Military Revolution (Zoom)

Zoom | Registration opens 12/16/2025 10:00 AM EST

[NEW CLASS] Drone warfare has roots reaching back to WWII, but the War in Ukraine has forced a radical re-evaluation of military tactics. The dominant land weapon, the tank, has been shown to be extremely vulnerable to cheap, mass-produced drones. Air force deep strike capabilities are being usurped by drones with increasing range and growing warhead size. Even naval vessels are targets of these destructive weapons. In this class we will study the history of drone warfare, review the present state of drone warfare with a focus on Ukraine, and extrapolate future trends in drone warfare.  Audio/Visual, Lecture
