[NEW CLASS] While departing Brunswick, GA on September 8, 2019, the Golden Ray, a 600-foot RoRo (rollon/rolloff) vehicle carrier, capsized off Jekyll Island, GA. We will follow the voyage of the Golden Ray from South Korea to Brunswick. We will then review a detailed recording of the incident, and the lengthy Coast Guard/National Traffic Safety Board hearing. This will be followed by an analysis of the cause of the incident, and what, or who, was responsible. Finally we will review the lengthy salvage operation, and the environmental consequences.
