Our day will begin with a relaxing bus ride to Canada. After getting through Customs, we will proceed to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. You will have time on your own for lunch, shopping, relaxing in the village. We will then meet at the Festival Theatre, no later than 12:45 PM to enjoy the classic musical, Funny Girl. Here is a description:
“Fanny Brice has everything it takes to be Broadway’s next big thing: the voice, the charm and more than a little chutzpah. But does she have ‘the look?’ This touching comedy explores her unlikely rise to stardom with the Ziegfeld Follies as well as her turbulent love life with gambler Nick Arnstein. One of the greatest musical scores of all time, Funny Girl includes classics like “Don’t Rain on My Parade”, “I’m the Greatest Star”, “People” and much more.”

After the musical ends, we will board the bus for dinner at the Table Rock Restaurant overlooking the Horseshoe Falls. There should be time after dinner to walk over to the Falls for closer viewing. 

Dinner at Table Rock Restaurant, overlooking the Niagara Gorge. You place your order at the table:

  • Appetizer: Chef’s Soup of Day, House Salad, Bread/butter
  • Entrees: Roasted Chicken Supreme, Broiled Rainbow Trout, Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli
  • Seasonal Dessert Feature
  • Beverages: Coffee, Decaf Coffee, Hot Tea, Milk, or Soft Drink.

If you have special dietary needs, please indicate so on the registration questionnaire. Dinner choices are made at the table.

    7:00 AMCheck-in and departure from OLLI at RIT (50 Fairwood Drive, Suite 100, Rochester 14623)
    7:20 AMPROMPT departure by coach from the OLLI parking lot. We will stop at the Clarence service area along the way.
    10:30 AMArrive. Our dropoff will be at the bus parking facility near the Festival Theatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our theatre tickets will be given to you on the bus; care for them, or you will miss the play. You will have free time to walk into town, visit the many shops, or just stroll. Lunch is on your own. There is a free shuttle if you don't want to walk.
    12:45 PMBe at the theatre for the matinee performance of Funny Girl. Show starts at 1 PM!
    4:15 PMBoard the bus for the Table Rock Restaurant overlooking the Niagara Falls. Entree choices will be taken at the table (see menu below)
    6:30 PMBoard the coach for the return trip to OLLI
    9:00 PMApproximate arrival time back at the OLLI parking lot

    Some walking and standing is involved. Dress for the weather — rain or shine. Wear comfortable walking shoes. If you need a cane or walker, please bring one and use it. Don’t forget your camera. This trip is NOT wheelchair accessible.
