F04M Athenaeum Book Club (Hybrid/In-Person)

The Athenaeum Book Club is a peer-led discussion group that welcomes curious minds, lifelong readers, and anyone looking to discover the joy of reading. Together we will explore thought-provoking fiction and engaging nonfiction that challenge our perspectives and spark meaningful conversations. Our first session will be devoted to getting to know each other (new, seasoned, and founding members) and book selection. Please come prepared with a book or books that you would like to nominate (this is not a requirement; you can still vote for the books we will read.) We will vote and select 6 books (4 fiction and 2 non-fiction) for the fall, winter, and spring terms. Enrollment Limit: 35 Discussion

Sandra Vallot
Sandra M. Vallot retired from the Allstate Insurance Company after a 40-year career during which time she had the opportunity to complete her AS in Applied Science and BS in Business Administration and General Management. She became a member of Osher because she is committed to lifelong learning.
Mary Brown
Mary Brown is an avid reader with a lifelong passion for learning and actively exploring diverse ideas, perspectives, and experiences through both fiction and nonfiction. Her appreciation for compelling narratives and thought-provoking works reflects a strong intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous personal growth. She values the ability of literature to inspire and foster meaningful connections, and to expand perspectives by reading books she may not have previously considered.
