[NEW CONTENT] The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights together define the foundation of the American Experiment, establishing two key principles: separation of powers and checks and balances among the three branches of the federal government. This course traces how those branches have evolved over 250 years, from the founders’ original vision in the 18th century to the present day, with a particular focus on the growing power of the Executive Branch.
