Today’s criminals use the internet and artificial intelligence (AI) in ways that make scams harder to spot. The most effective way to fight back is through education like this tutorial in online safety through Lifespan, a regional nonprofit serving older adults and their caregivers. Dan Lyon
Dan Lyon is retired from the Road Patrol of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in Rochester NY after serving for nearly 24 years. During his employment with the department, he served eight years as a Crime Prevention Deputy which afforded him the opportunity to work with all aspects of Monroe County’s east side communities. Since 2020 he has been the manager of Lifespan’s Fraud/Scam and Identity Theft Program assisting victims of scams and frauds. Besides case management, he facilitates presentations to educate older adults across NYS.
