From the Reagan Era until 2015, generally speaking, Arkansas was an island in the otherwise Republicanized South -- an island where rural white conservatism remained accepting of Democrats at the state level, albeit moderate or uncommonly talented ones like Bill Clinton, David Pryor, Dale Bumpers and Mike Beebe. In 2015, the state joined the likes of Alabama and Oklahoma and went wholesale Republican at the legislative, statewide and federal levels. So have we really had a revolution? Or has it turned out that only the name has been changed?
