Exploring Mars has been an important part of the space exploration missions of many countries. Marvin Hilton, a journalistic researcher and member of the Mars Society, National Space Society and the Planetary Society will share his presentation with OLLI members. This illustrated slide show will include the reasoning of philosophers, scientists, theologians, historians, sociologists, economists and space industry leaders to show how an internationally supported mission to send humans to Mars can help civilize and improve life on Earth. It logically explains nine good reasons for exploring Mars and gives results of a random street survey on a Mars mission inviting all nations to participate. It shows how our status will increase in our own human eyes as our astronauts examine the Martian boulders, water, soil and gullies for signs of life. It explains why sending humans to Mars will begin to lift human life to higher levels of authenticity, confidence and knowledge and launch a 21st century renaissance with a wiser and more peaceful human civilization. Attendees will have an opportunity for comments and questions.
