The mysteries of caves and caving have always been a source of fascination, and Arkansas is a great place to encounter some spectacular caves. Matt Covington, a professor of Geosciences at the U of A and active cave explorer will teach the class how caves form, what kind of geology produces them and their importance as a natural resource. He will share information on some of the interesting cave systems in Arkansas, as well as a few from much farther afield. Come delve into the world of extreme expedition caving, where cavers are exploring some of the most challenging and inhospitable environments in the world.
