Join Kitty Sanders, Butterfly Mentor at the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks, for an investigation into the fascinating life of the monarch butterfly. The monarch migration is a scientific marvel. Special emphasis will be placed on the spring and fall migrations, but we will also discuss monarch ecology, monarch decline, and what community members can do to help improve conditions for monarchs.

  • This class will meet in person at Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks, located at 4703 N Crossover Rd, Fayetteville, AR 72764. Please read your class reminder email for the exact room location.

Since 2011, I have been involved with the butterfly program at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks where I learn something new each year about butterflies. We plan displays for field trips, special events, tours, and children's programming. I have served on the steering committee for the Arkansas Monarch Conservation Partnership since its inception. Recently I've taught courses on monarch ecology and community science.
