Even if one practices poses and sequences on the yoga mat daily, by its very nature most ‘Yoga is done off the yoga mat!’ Yoga is an integrated holistic, wellness oriented lifestyle which is the foundation for this class. A number of years ago the University of Arkansas adopted an 8 dimensional model of health and wellness that shares a number of characteristics with the Yoga lifestyle. Ed Mink, retired Director of University of Arkansas Wellness & Health, will introduce this paradigm and explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga. Compassion and non-violence, as well as ‘Yogic eating” will also be explored and practiced with intention. Through experiential learning, participants will come to realize and appreciate Yoga as Wellness.

Participants should bring a personal wellness journal to class along with a yoga mat or towel. Dress in easy-to-move-in clothing.

  • This class will meet in person at the OLLI offices, located at 481 S. Shiloh Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72704. Please read your class reminder email for the exact room location.
