Ozark / Arkansas Writers Book Club

Course (4+ sessions) | Registration closed 9/13/2024

Class members will explore Arkansas and the Ozarks through four well written books by regional authors. Sept 4 - The President’s Daughter, by James Patterson and Bill Clinton; Oct 2 - Newspaper Woman of the Ozarks, by Susan Croce; Nov 6 - The Disappearance of Maud Crawford, by Beth Brickell; Dec 4 - Red Clay, Running Waters, by Leslie K. Simmons. Class members are expected to find their own books and to have read each title before the class meets. (Recommended: Pearl’s Books will give a discount to OLLI Book Club members.)

This class meets on the first Wednesday of each month.

Heifner, Marilyn
Marilyn Heifner

Marilyn Heifner is retired Executive Director of the Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission, whose office was on the Square for 22 years. She received the Washington County Distinguished Citizen Award and the City of Fayetteville Historic Preservation Award in 2023. As president of the Evergreen Cemetery Board, she has researched the people buried there whose lives tell the story of Fayetteville.
