Hike to Buckhorn Creek (CR)

Join naturalist Lloyd Keck for a challenging day hike in the Ozark/St. Francis National Forest. This tough 3-mile trail takes hikers deep into the rugged landscape of Buckhorn Creek, a tributary of Cove Creek in Crawford County. Along the way, you’ll encounter striking rock formations and a small waterfall that spills into a natural swimming hole—an incredible reward for those up for the challenge. Rated Level 3 (advanced), this hike is demanding and best suited for experienced hikers. Be prepared for a physically tough experience and ensure you’re equipped for the difficult terrain.
Transportation is available. Location and travel information will be sent prior to the date of the hike.

This option is the Commuter Rate (CR) option.
This course is an in-person course. Participants will drive themselves (commuter rate) to the location of the class or may elect to meet the transportation group (details to be provided) and follow behind the van to the class location. Meeting details will be sent in the class reminder.
This class will meet in person at the OLLI offices, located at 481 S. Shiloh Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72704. Please read your class reminder email for the exact room location.

Lloyd Keck
Lloyd Keck worked his way through college as a park naturalist. He is a veterinarian with a PhD specialty training in pathology and infectious diseases. Lloyd has traveled and worked in developing countries around the globe including Africa, South American, Asia and Europe. Helping poultry farmers has been his primary focus. Lloyd provided agricultural expertise to congress while working on Capitol Hill. The Ozark Mountains are special to Lloyd and has found nowhere he would rather live and enjoy the outdoors.
