May I Have This Dance?

Class | Registration opens Tuesday, August 19, 2025 10:00 AM

In the 1800s, dancing was a way of socializing. For young people, it was a way of beginning courtships. Put on your dancing shoes, fill in your dance card, and learn 4 popular 19th-century dances, the Virginia Reel, Gay Gordon, Jefferson Water Wheel, and Soldiers Joy. Join Mattison Griffin, Park Interpreter, for a journey of dancing through history.

Close-toed shoes and a bottle of water are recommended.

Activity Level: 2

**Optional, but highly recommended and on your own: After class, enjoy lunch at Coyle's Family Restaurant, located across the road from the PG Battlefield SP

  • This program will meet in person at Praire Grove Battlefield State Park, located at 506 E Douglas St, Prairie Grove, AR 72753. Please read your class reminder email for the exact room location.

Class changes occasionally happen, please watch for (and read) announcements or emails from OLLI regarding your class.
