A Hike To Kings River Falls

Experience the quiet beauty of late fall on this guided adventure to Kings River Falls Natural Area. This 2-mile hike offers a peaceful escape into the Ozarks, featuring overhanging bluffs, forested trails, and the striking Kings River Falls, spanning the width of the river, and flowing strongest in the cooler, wetter months. Bare trees reveal dramatic rock formations, and crisp air adds a refreshing energy to this easy-to-moderate hike. It’s the perfect season to enjoy the stillness of nature while connecting with others who share your love for the outdoors.
Expect a few wet or muddy patches. Waterproof shoes or an extra pair of socks are recommended. Whether you’re looking to stay active or simply soak in the seasonal beauty, this outing offers a rejuvenating way to explore Arkansas’s wild side.

- Though the hike will begin at Kings River Falls Natural trail, 1543 Madison 3500, Witter, AR 72776, in the Boston Mountains, it is suggested that the participants meet at OLLI HQ and then travel to the destination together.
This program will meet in person at OLLI Headquarters (HQ), located at 481 S. Shiloh Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72704. Please read your class reminder email for the exact room location.

Josh Raney
Josh Raney is a native Arkansan and has lived in Fayetteville for 25 years. He earned a BSBA in M (2003) and MEd in Human Resource Development (2008) from the University of Arkansas. In his role, Josh oversees all operations of the institute and works closely with leadership of the College of Education and Health Professions, but also shares his passion for the outdoors by guiding leisure hikes. Josh shares his passion for the outdoors by volunteering to lead
hikes for seasoned adults through OLLI. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Rebecca, and two sons
Hayes and Pruitt. They spend much of their free time canoeing, camping, hiking, biking and fishing.
