Ron Croson
Park Interpreter Ron Croson started at Lake Fort Smith State Park in April 2025. Ron retired from the Little Rock Police Department as a sergeant after 30 years of service. He served as a scout leader for over 12 years, compiling a sizable record of nights camped and trails hiked. This love of the outdoors helped guide him to what he wanted to be when he grew up, a park interpreter. Ron holds a bachelor’s degree in German from Arkansas Tech University. He is a Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) and a member of the National Association for Interpretation (NAI). His hobbies include traveling with his wife by RV, woodworking, and enjoying their 6 grandsons. Arkansas State Parks have been an important part of Ron’s family and he now wishes to share that opportunity with as many families as possible.
