Dr. Spencer Allen brings to OLLI participants The Infancy Gospel of James. This is the early 2nd-century narrative that reveals the extraordinary life of Mary, Mother of Jesus, and the miraculous events surrounding her birth and life up through the birth of Jesus, as told by Jesus’ older stepbrother James. This text uses Old Testament/Hebrew Bible passages to create the foundation of Mary’s story and weaves in the Christmas narratives found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.
Bring a brown bag lunch to 1st session of class.
Lunch will be provided the 2nd session.

Dr. Spencer Allen is a University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University-trained biblical scholar and Instructor of International Relations at the University of Arkansas. He has taught over twenty religion programs for OLLI for seven years, earning him our Instructor of the Year.
