How Memories Inform Our Health Journey

Class | Registration opens Tuesday, February 3, 2026 10:00 AM

Memory plays a powerful role in the health of older adults. As we age, long-term memories often become more vivid and accessible, shaping how we see ourselves and our life story. Positive memories can bring comfort, strengthen identity, and support emotional well-being. On the other hand, unresolved or traumatic memories may resurface and contribute to stress, anxiety, or depression. Dr. Orie Quinn, founder of Ozark Holistic Center in Fayetteville and a frequent OLLI presenter, believes that when older adults are supported in processing and making sense of their past, it can lead to greater peace of mind, improved mood, and better physical health. In short, how we remember deeply affects how we feel and function as we grow older.

  • This program is being held in person at the new Springdale Senior Center, located at 823 E. Emma Ave, Springdale, AR 72764.
