Discovering Ireland

Paul Calleja, who has co-led a teacher education program to Ireland, will guide our OLLI participants through the rich historical, cultural, and social landscape of Ireland. The program will include a focused discussion on four major Irish cities: Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Galway. This interactive session will transport OLLI participants to the Emerald Isle, where they will learn what makes Ireland a premier destination for people from around the world. Finally, the talk will include an overview of Ireland’s rich history, which has undergone rapid evolution since its independence in 1921.
This program will meet in person at OLLI Headquarters (HQ), located at 481 S. Shiloh Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72704. Please read your class reminder email for the exact room location.

Paul Calleja
Dr. Calleja grew up in the San Francisco bay area where he attended San Jose State University, earning an undergraduate degree in physical education (1994). After completing school in the west, he moved to Northwest Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas (UA) where he completed a master’s degree in adapted movement science (1999), and a doctorate in kinesiology, pedagogy (2004). He also has co-led a teacher education program to Ireland.
