X1026C - Introduction to Contract Bridge

In this class, you will learn to play Mini-Bridge. You will learn the basics of hand evaluation, and taking tricks in trump and no trump contracts. The fundamentals of scoring will also be covered. We will play several hands of mini-Bridge to illustrate the technique. You will receive a handout with instructions and score sheets so that you can play the new game that you learned at home. Mini-Bridge plays like Contract Bridge, without the need to learn the bidding that goes into an auction.
Maria Davis
Maria lives in Sun Lakes year-round with her husband. Maria is a Silver Life Master and has been directing a weekly Novice Bridge game at the Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge club for the past 8 years. Maria has also taught Beginning and Intermediate Bridge classes since 2016. In 2019, Maria was awarded the Annual Volunteer Award for service to the SLDBC. Maria has been doing public speaking since 1980 on a variety of topics including Biology, Chemistry, Project Management, and Intellectual Property Law.
