Artificial Intelligence (AI) has advanced at an extraordinary pace in recent years. But how did we get here? What makes AI so powerful, and what are its limitations?  In this course, we will explore the foundational principles behind modern AI, gaining insights into the technologies that drive its intelligence. With a deeper understanding of how AI works, students will learn how to use AI effectively and enhance everyday life. We will also examine the AI boundaries and discuss common pitfalls.

Luo Xiaoqiang

Dr. Xiaoqiang Luo earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1999. With over 25 years of experience, he is a seasoned expert in AI, and engineering leadership. From 2015 to 2025, Dr. Luo served as the founding leader of the AI/Machine Learning team at LinkedIn’s New York office, where he also held the roles of Senior Engineering Manager and NYC Site Lead for Data and ML.
