1 Session | Registration opens 9/24/2025 10:00 AM MST (Arizona)

This presentation includes vital information about the opioid epidemic. The presenter, Sejal Katyal, will discuss what opioids are, who often takes them, and why people get addicted to opioids. We will also discuss the scientific process of how opioids numb pain and, most importantly, discuss what you can do to stop the opioid epidemic. This presentation was made based on scientific research and valuable insight from medical professionals including pharmacists.

Sejal Katyal

My name is Sejal Katyal, a sophomore at ACP High School. I do research on public health topics, and I am a member of Maricopa County's STAND program. The opioid epidemic is an alarming public health crisis and by attending this presentation, you are educating yourself about opioids and learning what you can do to stop it. Together, we can help end the stigma. This presentation has also been presented at NESA's 2025 community health symposium and supported by research and medical professionals.
