This class will center on Exchange Traded Funds commonly abbreviated as ETFs.
The class will illustrate the differences between ETFs and individual stocks. ETFs will be explained as to what they are and illustrate short-term and long-term usage and advantages/disadvantages of ETFs. The class will use various tools, information, and examples to help understand ETFs.
Goals of the class are to:
Illustrate how to identify high quality ETFs.
How to analyze ETF investments to find good values.
How to develop and manage a long-term portfolio of ETFs.
This will be a “hands-on” class with background and theory. We will learn some of the
characteristics of the underlying stocks in each of these sectors.
The class will emphasize:
Long-term investing – not short-term trading
This is a class on investing in ETFs – not stocks, options, mutual funds, bonds,
commodities, or real estate.
