300 A Fabric Torn Asunder: The Reformation of the English Church

History | Registration opens 4/15/25 9:00 AM EDT

King Henry VIII was given the title ‘the Defender of the Faith’ by Pope Leo X as a reward for writing a pamphlet entitled ‘Declaration of the Seven Sacraments Against Martin Luther’.  Twelve years later, along comes Ann Boleyn; five years after that Henry is excommunicated from the Catholic Church.  What happened?!  This class will review these wrenching times for the people of England, for their king, for Cardinal Wolsey, for Ann Boleyn, and finally for Thomas Cromwell.
