This class will provide a general overview of the elk program in Tennessee. It dates to the early 2000’s. Topics will include a background in elk life history and population ecology, planning and implementation of the original releases, population monitoring, research, habitat projects, quota hunts and more.


Garrett Clevinger

Garrett Clevinger has served as TWRA’s Elk Program Coordinator since December 2023. He completed his PhD at Virginia Tech University in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences. His primary research focused on population ecology of large mammals in the Appalachian Mountains.
