The way to effectively recycle is constantly changing and varies from town to town and state to state. We will review how to effectively recycle in Oak Ridge, what you can recycle locally, and where to take it. We will also talk about why recycling is good for our local economy and the companies who need the materials that often end up in landfills.

Robin Graham

Robin Graham worked in the Environmental Sciences Division at ORNL for 27 years in bioenergy and as a manager. She moved to Argonne National Laboratory for 8 years and retired to Oak Ridge. She is currently serving as the chair of the Environmental Quality Advisory Board of the city of Oak Ridge. Among the board’s many activities are working to increase recycling across the city, helping citizens understand why recycling is important, showing and how to take advantage of the myriads of opportunities to recycle in Oak Ridge. Trained as an ecosystem scientist, she has discovered that recycling and waste management is a fascinating complex system.
