700A - Friday, June 5th, 7:00 p.m. - Flatwater Festival Grand Opening ($15)
All three storytellers will take the stage to share inspiring, uplifting, and entertaining tales to kick off this year’s festival. Bil Lepp, a perennial favorite, will deliver hilarious stories, while Josh Goforth will demonstrate his musical prowess on over 20 instruments, enriching his North Carolina stories and lore. The third storyteller, whose identity remains a mystery, will help complete the unique and enchanting Flatwater Tales experience. - Location: Edwena Crowe Ballroom, Oak Ridge Conference Center
Bil Lepp is an award-winning storyteller, author, and recording artist. His humorous family-friendly tall tales have delighted audiences across the country, from public schools to Comedy Central’s Hudson Stage.
Josh Goforth is a Grammy-nominated master fiddler, storyteller, and accomplished musician who plays nearly 20 instruments. He has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. He has toured extensively across the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He currently serves on the faculty at the Academy for the Arts in Asheville.
