152 RSCC Nuclear Technology Program

The Roane State Community College Nuclear Technology Program provides a comprehensive, hands-on Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree designed to prepare graduates for immediate employment across the nuclear and radiological workforce. The purpose of this training class is to discuss this program, student opportunities and tour RSCC’s Nuclear Operations Laboratory. There will be demonstrations during the tour.
Joseph Stainback
Dr. Joseph Stainback is the director of the Nuclear Technology Program at Roane State Community College and has over 4 decades of operations and academic experience in the nuclear industry including significant component manufacturing, research and security related programs and projects for the Department of Energy, U.S. National Laboratories and other U.S. Government agencies. This includes direct nuclear operations experience in high consequence nuclear facilities such as BWXT Nuclear Operations Division, and the Y-12 National Security Complex Nuclear Engineering Department. Dr. Stainback serves currently as a nuclear subject matter consultant and performs licensed clinical work in the field of credibility technology (polygraph examinations). Dr. Stainback holds a BS in mechanical engineering technology from Old Dominion University, an MS in engineering administration from George Washington University, and a PhD in industrial engineering from the University of Tennessee.
