300 Presidents at War

Presidents at War will be a review of U.S. presidents serving as Commander in Chief during periods of conflict. We will look at the constitution as we walk through the history of managing conflict in a democratic society.
Michael Thornton
Mike Thornton is a retired U.S. Army officer and helicopter pilot. His early assignments were as an AeroScout pilot on the east German and Czechoslovakian border where he trained with other NATO militaries to defend Europe during the Cold War. He served six years in Europe and has conducted research around the
world to help understand the American experience.
Mike is an adjunct professor of U.S. history at Roane State Community College. He earned a master’s degree from Jacksonville State University and has recently completed an intensive post graduate study of U.S. history at Ashland University.
