450 Anatomy of Creative Writing Collections

We will examine how to compile creative work via themes for chapbooks and full-length collections. Though emphasis will be on poetry collections, the advice applies to other genres. The four craft lectures will invite open discussion and include some marketing prospects for your work.

John Mannone

John C. Mannone, Poet Laureate for the City of Oak Ridge (2026-2028), has poems in Artemis, Critical Humanities, Windhover, and others. He won numerous awards in poetry and creative nonfiction, as well as a Jean Ritchie Fellowship (2017) in Appalachian literature. Among his six chapbooks and five full-length collections, Sacred Flute (Iris Press, 2024), was a finalist for the 2025 Tennessee Book Award. He is a retired professor of physics.
