Greg Grieco

Greg Grieco is the current executive director at ABR. He grew up in Farragut, TN and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he studied human physiology and played a little bit of football for the Volunteers. After graduating in 2015, he began working as a wildlife ranger in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park wrangling bears, hogs, elk, bats and everything in between. In 2024, he left the park to work for the Appalachian Bear Rescue in Townsend. Greg’s favorite part about working at ABR is sharing the stories of the cubs who owe their second chance at life in the wild to the efforts of ABR’s hardworking staff and generous supporters from around the world.
